BROWSER TO BROWSER
Online file transfer without installing software
DeviceHop uses browser technology already available in Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari. Open the website, start a temporary session and connect the second device with a QR code or private link. There is no desktop client, mobile app, browser extension or account setup.
How to send files free in four steps
- 1
Start a temporary transfer
Select Start free file transfer. DeviceHop creates a QR code and invite link that belong only to that session.
- 2
Open the invite on another device
Scan the QR code with a phone or copy the link to another computer or tablet.
- 3
Choose one or many files
Select photos, videos, documents or archives on either device. Each file can be up to 512 MB.
- 4
Keep both tabs open
The receiver can download each file as it completes. Close the session when you are finished.
Why there is no cloud upload step
Traditional sharing services first upload a file to online storage and then create a download link. DeviceHop instead connects the two browsers. When possible, the file travels directly between them. If a restrictive network requires a relay, the traffic stays encrypted and the relay does not save the file.
Works across different devices and networks
Use DeviceHop between Android and Windows, iPhone and Mac, two computers, or two phones. The devices do not have to use the same Wi-Fi; both simply need internet access and a modern browser. No platform-specific setup is required.
Free transfer without registration
You do not need to provide an email address, create a password or verify an account before sending. DeviceHop sessions are temporary and are extended only while the connected devices remain active.
